3rd International Trainee Symposium in Agri-Food, Nutrition and Health

October 15 – 17, 2025
8:00 AM – 5:30 PM

Dear Colleagues,

We are excited to host the 3rd International Trainee Symposium in Agri-Food, Nutrition and Health, presented by the Canadian Centre for Agri-Food Research in Health and Medicine (CCARM). Prepare to embark on an exciting journey through the world of agri-foods and discover how they can transform our health and well-being!

đź“… Save the Date: October 15-17, 2025

Location: Samuel N. Cohen Auditorium, St. Boniface Hospital Albrechtsen Research Centre, Winnipeg, Canada.

Organized by the renowned CCARM, a collaborative partnership among St. Boniface Hospital, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, University of Manitoba, and the University of Winnipeg, this event takes place amidst a surge of public interest in using food to promote health benefits that extend beyond meeting basic nutritional needs. With a growing demand for fresh knowledge in this area, we are delighted to offer scientific sessions that will spotlight the latest developments and breakthroughs in the field.

The Symposium is open to ANYONE with an interest in Agri-Food, Nutrition, Health, and related fields, and we encourage you to register and attend. However, only trainees (graduate students and postdoctoral fellows) can submit abstracts for oral presentation because we are dedicated to fostering the next generation of researchers through this event. The Symposium offers a valuable platform for trainees to present their outstanding work, network with peers, and engage in lively discussions with like-minded professionals.

We invite trainees to share their research in a rapid format structure; presentations will be of 7 minute duration. Please follow the instructions for preparing the abstract provided in the Abstract Submission tab.  Final deadline for abstract submission is August 15, 2025.

As passionate advocates for knowledge sharing, we are committed to ensuring this event is accessible to all, regardless of financial barriers. There are no fees for attendance, registration, abstract submissions, or for the food and beverages offered during the Symposium. Our goal is to make learning accessible to everyone.

We strongly encourage in-person participation for a fascinating experience, however, we understand the importance of inclusivity. Therefore, those beyond Winnipeg’s metro area will be able join us easily by clicking on our online link. The online link will only be provided to participants located outside of Winnipeg, nationally and internationally, closer to the event date.

Please mark your calendars for October 15-17, 2025, and keep an eye out for more exciting details heading your way soon.

Join us on this transformative journey as we shape the future of health and agriculture together. We look forward to welcoming you this October!

Best regards,

Dr. Thomas Netticadan
